Restaurant in Winnsboro places to eat

“Huge shout-out to Susann Briggs and Nancy Irick Briggs at The Barrel House in downtown Winnsboro! I seldom eat out but decided tonight to let someone else do the cooking. The Barrel House Burger was over the top with it's perfectly seasoned meat, Gouda cheese, avocado, bacon, fried egg and fresh vegetables on a soft bun.

And the fries were perfectly cooked. If you haven't eaten at here, I hope you'll drop in sometime. Everything I have had there is delicious and satisfying. The wait-staff is so pleasant and the atmosphere is inviting. Thank you for providing such a great eatery in our town!

"Based off recommendations received today, we decided to try the Barrell House in Winnsboro. I had never heard of it before but believe it has been in business approximately one year in “The Bowery” area of downtown.

The restaurant was next door to the Arts Association office and gift shop. Winnsboro had a very lively downtown with galleries and shops and restaurants. It was truly lovely to see so many people out and supporting these businesses.

The Barrel House is a very homey feeling restaurant with natural wooden floors, booths, tables, and a bar in the back room. There is also a small outdoor dining area as well.

We had a 15 minute wait, which passed quickly while we watched all the hustle and bustle from the staff and customers. We had a delightful waiter named Luke Cox. He was gracious, polite, and very attentive.

We had their fresh pork rinds with jalapeño ranch dressing for an appetizer. The platter was cleaned! My son had an order of their buffaLo wings, which were cooked to perfection he said they tasted wonderful.

I had the special tonight which was a honey glazed blackened salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, along with a house salad (their house vinaigrette is based off of a nice Chianti-sans the fava beans 😉). The entire meal was wonderful but the salmon was AMAZING! A must try!

All in all, it was a wonderful meal and a great atmosphere and I would definitely recommend the Barrel House to anyone.
